In 2018, I, along with Linnéa Granlund and Sofia Blomgren embarked on the adventure of planning and leading the student reception at the chapter for Media Technology at KTH.
The reception took place four weeks in August-September, but the work as manager began by Christmas the year before.
To welcome the new students at the media technology programme with a four week long reception. Create a space where they feel safe and welcome. And introduce them to the life as a student at KTH. Also create a safe and productive space for the forty team members all working to create the reception.
Four wonderful and busy weeks introducing our university and chapter to new students. The new students were enthusiastic and participated in the many different activities we held. They quickly also formed new friendships with each other. After the end of the reception many of the students have thanked us for the welcoming activities we had and have themself engaged in the reception the following year.
This was an incredible experience!
To be able to create such an experience as the reception is wonderful. I am so proud of what I accomplished as an individual and what me and my co-managers did as a group together with the project team.
Knowing that the four weeks of reception would be a time packed with activities I (surprisingly) kept the promise I made myself to take time for myself and recharge and get enough sleep.
